Six years ago today Fadime was brutally murdered by her father – a great loss for those close to her but also to Swedish society. I wrote an essay about the iconic significance her photographed face came to have. This image was taken in Sara Mohammads home while I completed my work. I consider Fadime Sahindal one of the greatest freedom fighters through time.
